Dylan Mills survived a devastating house fire as a baby. Years later, he celebrated a joyful milestone: being crowned Homecoming King at Tarkington High School in Texas.
Beside him stood Homecoming Queen Ashlyn Primeaux, his longtime friend.
Their friendship began when they were just four years old. According to Ashlyn’s mother, they shared a kindergarten classroom, celebrated their eighth-grade promotion together and even attended prom together one year.
In 2025, they added another memory to that history: standing side by side as their school’s homecoming king and queen.
Ashlyn’s mother said they entered the homecoming race for fun. Winning was an unexpected bonus for two young people she described as kindhearted and genuine.
The photographs tell a touching story of growing up together—from little children in graduation caps to teenagers celebrating beneath the stadium lights.
For Dylan, the evening marked a happy chapter after years of living with the effects of his injuries. For both friends, it was another milestone to share.
Two childhood friends. Two crowns. One unforgettable night.
